A love story with a difference. In 1993, musician, artist, agent provocateur, and co-founder of the groundbreaking bands, Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, Genesis P-Orridge married former nurse and dominatrix Lady Jaye Breyer. In 1995, the couple took a radical decision: in order to effect a physical expression of their love, they began to subject themselves to a series of surgical procedures intended to increase their likeness to each other. Their goal was the creation of the »pandrogynous« being, »Breyer P-Orridge«. In 2007, Lady Jaye died from cancer. French director Marie Losier has spent several years following P-Orridge with her camera, and has created a documentary whose grainy 16 mm images are by no means the only feature that makes it stand out from run-of-the-mill films about musicians. Instead of relying on interviews with experts and companions of the couple, Losier chooses to spend ample screen time on their everyday life. From the kitchen to the bedroom, the film reveals that there actually was a great love story behind all the shrillness for show.
