Ein Tag Leben in NRW – Der Film

Documentary | DE 2012 | 90' | OV

TV event, radio play, online stream: back in spring, broadcaster WDR put out an open call via television, radio, and the Internet to people living in North Rhine-Westphalia, encouraging them to use their mobile phones or video cameras to capture »their« 30 April, 2012 on film. The extent of participation exceeded all expectations. Drawing on more than 3500 submissions comprising over 100 hours of broadcast-quality material, director Luzia Schmid has assembled a full-length documentary film, ONE DAY OF LIFE IN NRW. An audio play and an internet presence at www.eintagleben.de were also created. More than 180 people and the stories of what has moved them or preoccupied them on this one day have made it into this film. Many grand as well as marginal moments, some boasting perfect imagery, some shot in charmingly shaky takes, provide a wealth of fascinating insights into the lives and everyday concerns of people in NRW.
