Jerzy Skolimowski

In cooperation with the Polish Institute Dusseldorf and the Adam-Mickiewicz-Institute

This year one of the Cologne Conference’s retrospectives is dedicated to the Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski. For more than 50 years Skolimowski has been working successfully as a director, screenwriter and actor, with his work spanning Polish arthouse films as well as ambitious international productions over his long career, establishing him as one of Poland’s foremost filmmakers. Skolimowski’s deciding influence on the »Polish nouvelle vague« and the Eastern European cinema of the 60s led to his world-wide renown.
