Over the past decade, interactive narratives, new venues for content, and shifting modes of work have transformed the profession of screenwriting. Writers have seen the worlds they are working for expand – writing for scripted reality and serial formats has come to complement classic screenwriting for cinematic films. New distribution channels have had repercussions for copyright legislation as well as for compensation schemes for screenwriters. How are these changes affecting the working world and lives of authors – and what lies ahead as this development progresses?
