Besondere Schwere der Schuld

TV-Movie | 90' | DE 2014 | OV

After 30 years in jail, Komalschek returns to the small town where he once allegedly killed his neighbour and her newborn son. Under constant police surveillance he walks past all the landmarks of his former life – alarming not only former cop Barner, who was the one to put him behind bars. Barmer’s son, too, assigned for shadowing Komalschek, starts to find several pieces of this long-ago puzzle that don’t quite seem to fit – and against all resistance starts an investigation on his own. Kaspar Heidelbach once again brings German TV legend Götz George to shine in this sly psychological thriller, where until the shocking reveal in the end no one can be sure about the question of who being cat and who mouse. Manfred Zapatka, Hanno Koffler and Hannelore Elsner provide an excellent supporting cast, while director Kaspar Heidelbach finds a dirty, dark and dense imagery of niffy flats, depressing strip clubs and eery mine shafts – this small town has been rotting from inside for a very long time.
