Jimi Plays Monterey

Jimi Hendrix’ set at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 captured in full. When Hendrix was booked for Monterey, he was virtually unknown in his homeland, the U.S.A. – however, he was able to turn everyone’s concept of electric guitar inside out. Hendrix played his right-handed Stratocaster-guitar lefthanded, the strings strung in reverse, behind his neck before finally setting it on fire and smashing it to pieces with a little feedback and distortion. »Watch out for your ears, okay ?« (Jimi Hendrix).
