Only one final interview is all that is still standing between Onno Staling and his dream job as curator of  the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. But then the ambitious Alex pops up and muscles his way into Onno’s turf. The only thing that can save Onno from the competition now is the almost perfect crime. Three years go by. Alex returns. But his idea of revenge mocks anything the viewer could have had in mind. DE TREIN… is the stuff of classic thrillers, played out by the crème-de-la-crème of young Dutch acting talent, helmed by young directing star Frank Ketelaar in the best tradition of the old master himself, Alfred Hitchcock.
