Having been lost for years, Nico suddenly turns up in his home town again. He lodges himself in his parents’ house, where his older brother Johannes ow lives with his own family. Where the lost son has been all these years and what he is up to remains a secret at first. Johannes wants to get rid of him as soon as possible. Day by day, however, that becomes more difficult, since everyone but him finds Nico likeable and interesting. Subtly at first, but more and more overtly, old conflicts break open between the unequal brothers. FREMDER BRUDER concludes Robert Steudtner’s study of directing at the ifs internationale filmschule köln.
