A VDD (German Screenwriters’ Association) event supported by VeDRA (Film and Television Scriptwriting Association)
Film first exists on paper, as a synopsis, then as a more extensive treatment, and finally as a screenplay. Providing first-hand insights into the exciting experience of developing a cinematic narrative, screenwriter Dorothee Schön will tell the story of the creation of her historical television drama, KÄSTNER UND DER KLEINE DIENSTAG. A round table also featuring producer Roswitha Ester (ester.reglin.film) and commissioning editors Claudia Grässel (Degeto) and Götz Schmedes (WDR) will discuss how characters and plot lines were repeatedly readjusted, perspectives were changed, and conflicts were fleshed out to become more pronounced. Actor Christoph Maria Herbst will read selected scenes from various versions of the screenplay, which will be contrasted with clips from the finished film.
