The program THE END OF UTOPIA gives a preview for the next issue of the NEW AESTHETICS section at the Short Film Festival Cologne. The selected films analyze the impact that old and new technologies have on our lives, provide insight in the roles and relationships between artificial intelligence and humans in the modern working environment and investigate our brains’ reactions to the ubiquitous digitalization. How will our future unfold? For the start of the program, Clemens von Wedemeyer’s medium length science-fiction film ESIOD 2015 provides an outlook into a dystopian future, where the established system has monetized everything – the public space, the social life and even our memories.
