Ruth is a wife and a mother, an avid Christian at a radical free church and a vet in a research lab. Suddenly and ghost like, her ex Andreas re-enters her life after twenty years in prison for a murder he kept denying. Ruth’s already fragile state of mind disintegrates increasingly when she hears that Andreas was actually killed in an accident. Swiss screenwriter and director Simon Jaquemet tells this story of a woman at the verge of a nervous breakdown as a cinematic stream of consciousness, full of threatening paranoia, invisible forces and grotesque visions. Meanwhile, Judith Hofmann delivers an acting masterclass that will not be forgotten anytime soon.
