ROCKY (1976) by and starring Sylvester Stallone epitomises American values. This classic sports drama is far more than just a boxing story. The title character Rocky Balboa, a small-town boxer from a humble background, shows how a strong will and honest endeavour can change your life. When Rocky gets the chance to fight the world champion Apollo Creed, he sets out to achieve the seemingly impossible: He wants to prove his worth by sticking it out to the end. His good intentions - discipline in training, renouncing distractions and believing in himself - are at the centre of his transformation. Rocky shows that success does not necessarily lie in winning, but in facing challenges and never giving up.
