Heimkehrer

After five years in Belgrade, Marko returns to his Serbian home town. He hopes to be reunited with his first love, Anja, and to take her back to Belgrade with him. But the reunion proves difficult; the pair find that the darkness and violence of the past weigh heavily on the present. The environment is hostile as well: The locals are not happy to see Marko back and even resort to beatings to get rid of him again. Anja – who now retreats more and more from Marco – has become a part of the community that the inhabitants aren’t so eager to give up.
