During his audition for drama school he fell into the orchestra pit: It was the start to a tumultuous career in film, theatre and music. After his childhood in Germany's Eifel area, Mario Adorf established himself in Germany and Europe as a charismatic master actor – no matter if he played loveable crooks, Nazis or businessmen, Adorf was – and still is - a force of nature. Dominik Wessely's documentary portrait has him retelling and reliving the most important stations of his life and meeting colleagues like Senta Berger and Margarethe von Trotta.
