FABULA

The Dutch region of Limburg is famous for its fairy tales and stories. But Jos, a born loser, wants nothing to do with them: he and his family of petty criminals try to get out of debt with increasingly hair-raising schemes. But when Jos’s father disappears with a bag of money, the trail leads to an old family curse – and lots of fairy tales and stories. Michiel Ten Horn and his virtuoso ensemble leave no emotion untouched in this grotesque gangster tragicomedy, whose impressive imagery oscillates between crime thriller and magical realism.
