FIRE WILL COME

Amador is released from prison and returns home to his mother in the woodland hills of Galicia. The ageing bachelor had been convicted of arson, and the neighbours eye him with pity and suspicion: Can he be trusted? The wild landscapes of north western Spain become the second protagonist in Oliver Laxe's (MIMOSAS) movie, shot on analogue film, whose first and last sequences are among this year's very best. It won the jury award in the Un Certain Regard section in Cannes.
