THE ICE TOWER

16-year-old Jeanne runs away from an orphanage and, by chance, finds shelter in a film studio. Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen” is being filmed there. Jeanne is fascinated by the Snow Queen and her diva-like actress (Marion Cotillard), who draws her into a world between reality and dream. The camera work, set design, and music all come together to perfectly convey Jeanne’s descent into a fairy-tale world that is as cold as it is seductive. Awarded a Silver Bear in Berlin for the creative team.
