A look behind the scenes of one of the world’s most important museums. Since 2015 the German Eike D. Schmidt is the first ever non-Italian director of the Uffizi in Florence. This film by Corinna Belz (GERHARD RICHTER PAINTING) and Enrique Sánchez Lansch examines the complexity of his everyday work, but also shows how ordinary museum laborers enjoy the privilege to work in this special location. And of course there’s lots of art: Renowned cameramen Johann Feindt and Thomas Riedelsheimer time and again focus on details in the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance.
