MR. JONES

The articles of reporter Gareth Jones are said to have inspired George Orwell to write his famous fable FARM OF ANIMALS. Jones was the first Western journalist to report in Ukraine on the Holodomor, the famine in 1932/33 driven by Stalin’s forced collectivizations, which claimed four million lives. Agnieszka Holland’s prominently cast historical drama tells the gripping story of a man who stands up not only against Stalin’s unjust state, but also against his own guild.
