Ki-teak inhabits a damp basement flat in Seoul with his wife and two kids. But the charming scroungers manage to climb the social ladder: All four of them con their ways into jobs as domestic workers for the rich Park family – who is blissfully unaware that they have been duped by a family of fraudsters. The critique of turbo capitalism's exclusionary mechanisms has never been as entertaining as it is here: Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho (SNOWPIERCER) has crafted another undefinable masterpiece – and rightfully received the Palm d'Or in Cannes for it.
