The German Wehrmacht's attack on Poland that started the Second World War had its 80th anniversary this year. On this occasion the broadcaster phoenix in cooperation with arte has commissioned a special documentary blending graphic novel-style animation with interviews with historians. Following the screening of POLEN 39 there will be a workshop talk with filmmaker and phoenix executive Jean-Christoph Caron as well as animator Ali Soozandeh (THERAN TABU).
