TO CATCH A PREDATOR was an incredibly successful reality TV show on the US television network NBC. From 2004 to 2007, pedophiles were lured into a trap and caught on camera – until one day a fatal incident occurred. It seems strange that even late-night hosts like Jon Stewart and Jimmy Kimmel courted the show’s host, Chris Hansen. What happens when vigilante justice becomes entertainment – and immensely profitable? Does crime prevention justify ignoring moral boundaries?
