IN COOPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ROTTERDAM

Half a million Chinese people follow so-called “live streamers” on the internet, who record their everyday existence 24/7 online – and are financially rewarded for it by their fans. Zhu Shengze's documentary, which won the main award at this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam, is edited purely out of footage from these “live streamers”. It gives an unfiltered view into an unknown nation, where social media play an ambivalent role.
