REMINISCENCE OF A MOVIEGOER

As commissioning editor at WDR, Werner Dütsch influenced several generations of cinephiles in Germany from the 1970s onwards. This documentary is based on an eight-hour interview conducted by Christiane Büchner with Dütsch in 2018, the year before his death. Its content ranges from his early film socialization in post-war film clubs and cinemas to his later years as a professor at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts. A tribute to a passionate and intellectually brilliant film educator and facilitator.
