RETURNING TO REIMS (FRAGMENTS)

An ingenious cinematic adaptation of Didier Eribon's autobiographical best seller. Director  Jean-Gabriel Périot puts his focus on the history of the French working class and how it has been enthralled by Le Pen and the Front National. Adèle Haenel reads excerpts from the book, while Périot provides perfectly selected and edited archival footage from newsreels, documentary and fiction films. The result is an associative weave of words and images with an immense poetic density.
