SIRENS CALL

A film that breaks boundaries in every respect: both retro and sci-fi, documentary and fantasy, with protagonists who are not only genderfluid, but also dream of and perform an existence between human and fish. What begins as a kind of road movie with the extraterrestrial siren Una traveling through the reality of a drying planet becomes a documentary about the merfolk community in the northwestern United States, for whom political resistance has become vital in these times of right-wing populism.
