Architect Albert Speer had a life-long obsession for the arts and for stone-chiseled beauty. That he made a deal with the devil in order to still this desire was something he deliberately ignored. Breloer shows Speer as a prisoner of his obsessions – for both architecture and for the person of Adolf Hitler. He wants to help the dictator realize his vision of a metropolis called “Germania”. Sebastian Koch won the German Television Award for his portrayal of Speer in 2005, Tobias Moretti is equally convincing as Hitler.
