When the daughter of architect Eckert is killed in a car accident, detective Fischer takes on what seems like a straightforward case. But the investigation outgrows the initial accident pretty fast: A young female student is found shot, the double life of a banker is revealed – and they all are connected in fateful ways. This adaptation of Jan Costin Wagner's novel transplants the story from Finland to Germany but keeps all the best features of the Nordic Noir tradition: bleak personal twists of fate and stark societal critique.
