TALKING ABOUT TREES
The cinema as a magical place – it still sparks dreams all over the world. Ibrahim, Suleiman, Manar and Altayeb are filmmakers and have been friends for about half a century. After decades in exile – including in Germany – they are now living in their home country, Sudan, again. Their common dream: to reopen a long closed open-air cinema in the capital Khartoum with Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”. Will they succeed against all odds in a country ruled by an Islamist dictator?
