In cooperation with ZDF and Network Movie
show all movies from 2025Hauke’s good fortune is complete. The young man has found the love of his life and landed a job with the coastal protection agency that seems tailor-made for him: he has a keen sense for the sea and the dykes. But ominous signs, ignorance and envy in the community, and finally a fateful flood threaten to put an end to it all. Francis Meletzky’s poetic remake retains the timeless magic of Theodor Storm’s novella and enriches it with highly topical themes such as rising sea levels and the global rise of flood disasters.
