THE SECRET AGENT

Urban sensuality meets black humor and a crazy thriller plot: Kleber Mendonça Filho (BACURAU) creates a visually intoxicating panorama of 1970s Brazil in his film, which won several awards at Cannes. Marcelo (Wagner Moura) flees with his son from the henchmen of the military dictatorship. A resistance group in Recife takes him in and finds him a job in an office. There he encounters a corrupt police officer who covers up murders during Carnival. At the same time, a murderous shark sparks collective hysteria.
