THE WILD PEAR TREE
Another masterpiece by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. After his Cannes winner WINTER SLEEP he once again takes us to the Turkish province. Sinan returns to his hometown after studying. There he tries to publish his debut novel and return to the city as fast as possible after his exams in order to start as a teacher, because he loathes the simple-minded provincial folks – especially his father, who’s a notorious gambler. Brilliant dialogue and mesmerizing camerawork makes THE WILD PEAR TREE one of the best films of last year.
