UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE

In a mysterious and surreal liminal space somewhere between Tehran and Winnipeg, the lives of various characters intertwine in surprising and enigmatic ways. Elementary school students Negin and Nazgol find a sum of money frozen in the winter ice and try to retrieve it. Meanwhile, Massoud guides a group of increasingly confused tourists through the monuments and historic sites of Winnipeg. Matthew quits his meaningless job at a Québecois government office and embarks on a mysterious journey to visit his mother. Space, time, and personal identities overlap, intertwine, and reverberate in a surreal comedy of deception.
