YOUNG MOTHERS

The Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne have won numerous awards for their social dramas such as ROSETTA and L’ENFANT, which show one, sometimes two people struggling to survive. For their 13th feature film, the duo changes its approach and now observes young women, almost still kids themselves, who give birth to children. Left mostly alone by their families and the fathers, these young mothers find support in a social institution and develop a degree of hope that makes this drama the most optimistic film in the brothers’ long career.
