Artist Talk phoenix Preis: Michael Premo
Michael Premo works as an artist, photojournalist and filmmaker. He is the co-founder and executive producer of Storyline, a production company specialising in documentaries made through an inclusive and collaborative process that involves communities in telling their stories. Premo has produced film, theatre and radio projects with the Hip-Hop Theatre Festival, The Foundry Theatre and the Peabody Award-winning StoryCorps. Premo’s photography was featured in The Village Voice and The New York Times, among other publications. His recent projects with Storyline include the cross-platform project “28th Amendment: Housing Is a Human Right”, the participatory documentary SANDY STORYLINE and the award-winning short film and exhibition WATER WARRIORS. His film HOMEGROWN celebrated its world premiere this year at the International Critics’ Week during the Venice Film Festival.
