Tuesday, 19 Oct, to Thursday, 21 Oct 2021

EWIP is an industry platform that aims to elevate European films by creating opportunities to collaborate with international sales agents, distributors, producers, financiers as well as other industry partners.

24 carefully selected European (co-)productions will present first film scenes to give the attending group of key decision makers and experts an ahead of the game look.

This year's international jury consisting of long-time Arte editor and director Alexander Bohr (Mainz), Clémence Lavigne, co-head of sales and acquisitions for The Party Film Sales (Paris), film distributor Daniel Melamed, film distributor and CEO of New Cinema (Tel Aviv), Aranka Matits, founder of the Featurette agency (Amsterdam) as well as Fabian Massah, film producer and managing director of Endorphine Production (Berlin), will acknowledge the best pitches with awards worth 52,500 EUR.

The awards are provided by our partners K13 Studios, MMC Studios Cologne, LAVAlabs Moving Images, ARRI Media and ZOOM Medienfabrik.

European Work in Progress Cologne is significantly supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and takes place in cooperation with the Film Festival Cologne and AG Verleih, the association of German independent film distributors.

Panel discussions and case studies in collaboration with Creative Europe Desks Germany as well as networking events will complete the programme.

Industry delegates with a Film Festival Cologne badge can participate in EWIP without an additional fee. A prior registration is required through our online accreditation form.
