Another Time, Another Place

September 1944. Italian Prisoners-of-war are transported to a small village in the North East of Scotland. The harsh environment couldn't be more foreign to the Italian newcomers. Three of them get accommodation on little farms. Janie, a young farmer's wife who herself feels like a stranger in the region and in her marriage, is fascinated by the handsome Paolo. All the same, she starts an affair with the sad Luigi. After a short period of passion, their relationship ends in bitterness and loneliness without any hope for a shared future.
