FREISPIEL

In November 1993 the Cologne Stadtgarten was the venue of a unique musical project: forty musicians of different generations and styles (Krautrock, New Wave, electronic music, world music) came together in small groups to play jam sessions without any provisions or stated goals. This brainchild of Cologne's musical Jack of all trades Arno Steffen and director Burkhard Steger features among others: Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Peter Hook (New Order), Billy Currie (Ultravox), Andrew Gill (Gang of Four), Sven Regener (Element of Crime), Gudrun Gut (Malaria) and many more.
