James Cameron’s (TITANIC, TERMINATOR) television debut. Max (Jessica Alba) is a genetically improved prototype with superhuman powers. As a child she escaped from a military training camp. 15 years later she lives in post-apocalyptic Seattle, where she works as an illegal bicycle courier and is constantly searching for other mutants. On paper the film is a mixture of good old science-fiction plots. But on screen it is Cameron at his finest. Due to the bleak end-of-the-world images coupled with perfectly choreographed martial-arts scenes, first-class special effects, and a scintillating ensemble, the series has become a smashing success in America. DARK ANGEL will be shown on Vox starting in the autumn of 2001.
