FIRE OF LOVE

A different kind of love triangle: Katia and Maurice Krafft were bound to each other not only by their mutual love but also by their shared and obsessive fascination for volcanoes. Accompanied by a poetic voice-over by Miranda July, FIRE OF LOVE tells the story of these two volcanologists with spectacular footage the two shot themselves in the 70s and 80s. A movie that not so much scientifically dissects the mysteries of volcanoes but rather explores the psychology of a shared passion that ends in tragedy.
