Soul in the Hole

Another long, hot summer on New York's asphalt playgrounds. kenny Jones, the coach, has assembled the city's best young basketball talent onto one team. they devastate the older, more established competition at the legendary street tournaments of »Soul in the Hole« or »It's a Fila Thang«. The film focusses on the extraordinary relationship between the coach and his star-player, 18-year-old street legend Ed »Booger« Smith, whom Kenny took off the streets to become his surrogate father. Feature length documentary set in the vibrant subculture of one of America's most notorious boroughs, placing the audience right at street level as the camera hangs on to the players and cool HipHop rhytmes give the beat.
