Rollen Stewart a.k.a. the Rainbow Man - for his trademark rainbow coloured afro wig - spent from the seventies onwards years driving around the country in a never-ending quest to get on television. In 1992 he took a hostage and demanded a TV press conference. He said the world was going to end in six days and he needed to urge America repent. The film shows the rise and the fall of the Rainbow Man – a sad and sordid story of alienation and profound meaninglessness in a mediaobsessed society.
