Life could not be more idyllic for Ali and Melanie: the couple has its own store for sanitary facilities, a nice house and a cute baby. But all this threatens to go awry when her friends persuade Melanie to go with them on a weekend trip to Ibiza. While Ali and his buddies try to babysit, a cancelled flight leads the women to being spending a wild night on the town. And this town being Hamburg, it's no surprise that due to slippery tiling, a kidnapping by gangsters and a police chase they soon all meet again in a Reeperbahn strip club. Director Lars Becker obviously enjoys painting the whole town red in this slapstick farce full of zany characters and outlandish situations. The ensemble cast around Heike Makatsch, Fahri Yardim and Armin Rohde is clearly eager to joyfully exploit all the trappings of modern big city family life: from the split of labour between man and woman to their multicultural background and all the way to the wise grandpa in drag.
