Women in the Game Without Rules

Three women, three generations, one family. Love may get Maria, Elena and Alka into trouble in WOMEN IN THE GAME WITHOUT RULES, but then again, only through love can they overcome the adversities of their daily lives. This five-episode Russian TV series is by no means an ordinary melodrama. As in THE FABULOUS DESTINY OF AMELIE POULAIN or MAGNOLIA, the three women’s fates are absurdly put into a cosmic context – yet the symbolism remains genuinely Russian. Nothing seems impossible in this enchanting world – not even a submarine resurfacing in the middle of the Ukrainian steppe.
