International Actors Award - Oliver Masucci

A German actor on his way to Hollywood: Oliver Masucci, born in Stuttgart in 1968, trained in Berlin, a long-time ensemble member of Vienna’s Burgtheater and, since 2015, an indispensable presence on German and, increasingly, international screens. With his very first major cinema role, as Adolf Hitler in the satire LOOK WHO’S BACK, Masucci was nominated for the German Film Award in 2016, an award he received five years later – for his spectacular performance as Rainer Werner Fassbinder in Oskar Roehler’s ENFANT TERRIBLE. He has a special affinity with Roehler: they also worked together on HERRLICHE ZEITEN and the soon to be released BAD DIRECTOR which was shot in Cologne. Not least thanks to the globally successful series DARK, Masucci has also attracted attention from other countries: He starred in FANTASTIC BEASTS – THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE and alongside Jamie Foxx in DAY SHIFT, and soon he will feature in THE PALACE, Roman Polanski’s latest film.
