A respectable citizen robs a money transport and immediately gives himself up to the police. In jail he strikes a friendship with a female guard and gets entangled in the drug feuds between two gangs. But secretly he is playing a long game seeking a very personal vendetta. Great German genre cinema like this is a far too rare occurrence: The directorial duo of Hawie and Harwarth douse their bleak prison and revenge drama in dark colours, while all main actors shine as increasingly desperate anti-heroes.
