The NRW Media Prize for Development Policy Engagement is jointly awarded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and SGP Social Globe Projects UG and is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The prize honors outstanding campaigns from Germany on the topics of development cooperation, global goals and implementation of the 2030 Agenda, which succeed in reaching new target groups in an innovative and far-reaching way via digital moving images and social media. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros (1st place), 3,000 euros (2nd place) and 2,000 euros (3rd place).
An independent jury made up of members of the moving image industry and development policy stakeholders selected the following winners in 2024:

2nd place: #USETHENEWS - YEAR OF NEWS 2024 - Use The News gGmbH
3rd place: CLIMATE STORIES - Fairventures Worldwide gGmbH
The award ceremony took place on the evening of October 15, 2025 at the Filmpalast Cologne following the Global Day.Stories for Change took place.
