ERNEST COLE: LOST AND FOUND

In 2017, 60,000 photo negatives were discovered in a Swedish bank vault. They came from the estate of South African photographer Ernest Cole, who exposed the racist reality of the apartheid state to the world with his 1967 photo book “House of Bondage”. However, he was forgotten in the 1980s and died young. Raoul Peck (I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO) tells Cole’s moving story with the help of his photographs and texts, which he wrote in exile in America and Sweden.
