But the young woman refuses to sit for the painting in protest against her arranged marriage. With her new movie Céline Sciamma (TOMBOY) delivers an exquisitely filmed feminist counter-narrative to all those stories about male painters and their scantily-clad muses. It won the award for best screenplay at Cannes.
