Earlie, the daughter of a murdered mine owner, is kidnapped in Africa. Her German lover Ralf tries everything to rescue her – and soon loses his bearings completely. This makes him an easy target for scammers. LOVE BY PROXY is about taking money out of the pockets of Westerners with promises made online. The lingering question is whether defrauding white people is a form of compensatory justice in view of the historical exploitation caused by slavery and colonial rule.
